Short course in Cyprus

The course was attended by 100 people, a very good mixture of geoscientists, doctors, medical scientists etc. Considering the small country, this was the most well attended course ever.

We are proud to mention that the course was opened with welcome speeches by two ministers, the Minister of Health and the Minister of Agriculture and Environment!

Ο υπουργός Γεωργίας Φυσικών Πόρων και Περιβάλλοντος χαιρέτισε το σεμινάριο της Ιατρικής Γεωλογίας, που διεξήχθη στη Λευκωσία. Η ιατρική γεωλογία είναι ένα πρωτοποριακό και εξειδικευμένο θέμα, ένα θέμα λιγότερο γνωστό στον ευρύτερο επιστημονικό και επαγγελματικό κόσμο και σχεδόν άγνωστο στο ευρύ κοινό. Εντούτοις είναι ένα θέμα το οποίο παρουσιάζει εξαιρετικό ενδιαφέρον γιατί η ιατρική γεωλογία εξετάζει και μελετά συνθήκες και παράγοντες που σχετίζονται και επηρεάζουν την ανθρώπινη υγεία στη σύγχρονη κοινωνία, αλλά και το περιβάλλον γενικότερα.

The Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment addressed the seminar of Medical Geology that was carried out in the Nicosia. The medical geology is a pioneering and specialized subject, a subject least acquaintance in the wider scientific and professional world and almost unknown in the wide public. Nevertheless it is a subject which it presents exceptional interesting because the medical geology examines and studies the wconditions and factors that relate and influence the human health in the modern society, but also the environment more generally.
